The Maui Marathon Weekend Helps Maui Based Youth Charities and National Charity Programs
Since 1995, the Maui Marathon has raised more than $235,000 for youth-oriented Maui charities. Some of the ways the events raise monies for charity are: a silent auction held near the finish line, canisters placed in local businesses, pledges obtained by Maui Tacos 5K participants and Do Maui Donor Club, an exclusive group of marathon participants who raise a minimum of $500 in donations.
In addition to local community partners, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society chapters diligently raised more than $1.3 million for national leukemia and lymphoma research in 2004 for a total of over $12 million since 1996 from the Maui Marathon alone.
Other national charities such as Team In Training (new in 2007), ASHA, NF, and Charities Challenge have participants who raise money for deserving charities.
Information on both Maui based charities and national charities the marathon is associated with are listed below. One hundred percent of the money raised goes towards the charity. Should anyone wish to raise funds for these charities you may do so through by creating an online Personal Fundraising Page through Firstgiving.com.
To donate to any of these charities you may do so by mailing any donation to the Maui Marathon, PO Box 330099, Kahului, HI 96733.
