A word from the race director - Bob Craver:

Over the past several years the Maui Marathon has been working closely with Cool Running in maintaining and further developing our web site, www.mauimarathon.com , in what many people tell us is one of the better marathon sites around. With an ever increasing internet audience, Cool Running came to us recently and suggested some new concepts and changes to our existing site. We are excited to announce the re-launching of an extensively revised site while welcoming all of you to enjoy the "new look". As always, we will monitor its use and your feedback, in a continuing effort to make it one of the best marathon and running sites on line!

A new look and feel - www.mauimarathon.com

We invite you to take a moment to have a look at the revised Maui Marathon web site. As the site has grown significantly over the last twelve months it was decided to change the layout primarily with a goal of making things more user friendly. Hopefully we have accomplished that.

In addition to a site map and a large area of the front page dedicated to "recent news", we have divided it into five major sections:

  • Course - anything that is devoted to the four courses is contained here including maps, descriptions, photos, course support and start finish information can be found here.
  • General Information - virtually anything else about the weekend of events, awards, charity information, training and travel as well as a new section called FAQ that contain a wide variety of common questions and answers.
  • Enter the Races - Whether you care to enter online using our secure process or enter the traditional method, we make it as easy as possible. We also describe the confirmation and packet pickup process. We have a new "entry confirmation" section where we list the names of people who have recently signed up for the marathon and half marathon.
  • Merchandise - people love our Maui Marathon merchandise, so we will continue to offer it at the best possible prices.
  • Past Years - if you like to browse your previous years results or search for a photo of yourself or a friend, you can find it here. Also, there is a great deal of historic information about the race and the charities it supports.

We hope you like the new site. We are also considering some new sections including an interactive forum. Please let us know how feel about the new site and if there are any other features you would care for us to consider.

Thinking about training for the 2004 Maui Marathon
Or the Inaugural Maui Half Marathon?

It is never to early to plan for a marathon or a half marathon, even if the event is seven months away. This is especially true if the event is your first marathon or half marathon. We encourage you to visit the Cool Running training pages, have a look at the training schedules for both the marathon and half marathon and determine which of the four levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced and competitive) in each event best suits you.

In addition we have just released a limited number of 2004 "In Training" Tees. The unique design will help to encourage you on those long training runs. The shirt is available in S, M, and L, . They are $18 each, plus the $5 S&H for a total of $23 if mailed to any address within the US. Please visit our merchandise section to see this shirt in more detail and to place an order.
